Help Pass the PROTECT Our Children Act 1738
So I just finished watching an episode of Oprah about sexual predators. It was so hard to watch, but I was able to make it through to the end of the program - and I am glad I did. Oprah stated that she was tired of talking about child abuse and wanted to actually do something. Well, it turns out all of us can help, but we just need to act fast. There is a bill that we need to pass in order to help the children who cannot be helped.

Here's what Oprah's website has to say about this bill that's being voted on very shortly:

Hundreds of thousands of children are victims of sexual abuse each year. Due to the sheer lack of resources, law enforcement is unable to follow up on the majority of leads they have.

The PROTECT Our Children Act will:

* Authorize over $320 million over the next five years in desperately needed funding for law enforcement to investigate child exploitation.
* Mandate that child rescue be a top priority for law enforcement receiving federal funding.
* Allocate funds for high-tech computer software that can track down Internet predators.

Okay, so this is the part that we jump in and act. We call, fax, email, or write to our senators, and it can't be any easier, because there's a sample letter you can cut and paste into your email or if you go to Oprah's site (http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/20080911_tows_predators) her page has a link to www.senate.gov (or you can just click on the link from this page). From the senate.gov page you pick your state, your senator and then click on the "web form" button if you want to send them an email.

Call Your Senators
If you choose to contact your senators by phone, be sure to tell them, "Vote yes on Senate Bill 1738—The PROTECT Our Children Act."

Write to Your Senators
If you choose to write a letter, fax, telegram or e-mail, you may use the following sample letter—and modify it how you see fit.

Dear Senator:

I know that you believe, like I do, that we must do everything possible to protect children from sexual predators. That is why I am asking for your help.

Last year alone, U.S. law enforcement identified over 300,000 criminals who were trafficking in movies and pictures of young children being raped and tortured. Experts say that one in every three of these criminals has local child victims. Child pornography trafficking over the Internet has given us a trail of evidence that leads straight to their doorsteps, but the vast majority of these children will never be rescued because investigators are overwhelmed, outnumbered and underfunded.

As your constituent, I urge you to do everything in your power to pass the PROTECT Our Children Act (S. 1738, Biden-Hatch). This bipartisan legislation passed the House 415-2, but it is now the victim of petty partisan politics.

Now that we know where these children are and how to protect them, there is no excuse for the Senate to fail to take action this session.

So this november is a big election. Not just because of the Presidential election this year but also for all the issues out there.

How great would it be if only this really did come true.
I would love to be able to get married here in my home state where my friends and family are. I mean yes I could go to MA or Ct or Ca and I will proabbly end up moving to MA with in the next year or so but it will not be the same. WNY is my home. It's where I have grown up. Where my family and friends are. Where I have dreamed of getting married.

SO life has been pretty good around here. Busy but good.
School is going well. I feel like I should be behind on stuff but everytime I check I am actually ahead on my work. It's starting to mess with my head but in a good way I guess.
Internship is going well. Well not in the win loss stats but for me its going well. I'm seeing alot and learning a ton. Plus it helps when both of my intern supervisors graduated from Canisius so they totally understand what I am going through and what I am expected to know. It's a great time I am having so much fun. Gaining knowledge and confidence all good things. I did get that eval I mentiona few posts ago right ... we sent that person to the doc and the doc said he thought is was the inj I thought it was not what my supervisors thought... GO ME!
Work in insane. We have had 2 people quit and 1 is on admin leave who will ultimately probably be let go. I would be SHOCKED if they didnt let this person go I mean come on they abandoned their shift with a sub who rarely works at our place alone and did nothing he was suppose to while he was there.WOW. To make matters even better some of my coworkers are starting WWIII amongst themselves. I am simply trying to stay out of it. The person who I work with 99% of the time is great we have a great working relationship and all is well.
LIL J is doing well all set for halloween. This year she is going as a witch. it's cute. She is getting very excited about having a lil cousin around soon. Less than a month now til the due date.
Lori is doing well... as usual flipflopping day to day on how she feels about her job. She and I have taking to saying variations of " Man I cant wait til May" When I graduate and look for jobs and probably move and start a new life of actually getting paid to do what I like to do instead of getting paid to do something that I do simply to pay my bills.
Critters are doing well. Middy is being a good boy and the kitten and koopa have finally learned to get along.

WOW, I feel like my head has been spinning the past few days.
So I got the go ahead to go back to work and internship. WOW, from nothing right back in with the big dogs.
I feel like my head is spinning and it has only been 2 days.

I have been feeling much better, though they still have no idea what was / is wrong with me. So since Friday I have felt fine and just enjoying my last few days of freedom before knowing I was jumping back in head first Tuesday afternoon.

Classes are going well so far, LOTS of work to do for them, but all practical stuff like practice interviews, practice certification exams all that fun stuff. Still looking for an internship site I have until mid Nov to get a place approved but the good news is that rumor has it the site does not have to be with an ATC, So I still do not understand why I cant do the Bandits? But supposedly some classmates are doing chiropractor's offices, ERs, and other non- athletic based internships... I need to discuss further obviously with my Dept head what the "Real deal" is.

At my current internship we have been busy with random schedule changes due to the hurricanes, the weather not the team, and injuries. I cant wait til tomorrow to get the test results back from 1 guy where I really like 95% sure think 1 inj and my supervisor says he thinks something else. Makes me wonder if he really thinks something else or if he just said it to be a confidence booster as I have voiced to him that sometimes I lack confidence in my eval skills esp on Patients that I dont know much about ie) pain tolerance, etc. We shall see. Also I finally found out what road games I have as options for travel. Sept 13 and Nov 1 I told them I would have to play Nov game by ear for now.

Work is NUTS, my boss overheard 1/3 of something that was said and obviously the important parts were left out so I had an angry boss call today but that has been remedied. I cant stand co-workers that talk about you behind your back. Be an adult people if you have something to say say it dont play games. Also I am wokring a bunch of overtime to try and compensate for the lost week of pay last week. I think it should even out with this week's overtime.

Saturday is my last wedding of the summer. YIPPIE! No offense to any friends recently married but let me tell you I have been busy why did so many of you decide to get married so close together?

Next up baby shower and baby birth... YIPPIE he is going to be one spoiled nephew:)

Also fantasy football season is starting. I have no doubt that this year I will fair not so well. My best QB is P Manning, best wr Gonzalez, best rb BUSH, TE Gates, K Vinetareri, and Def Minn. Should be interesting lets see if my 3 yr old lil cousin is going to kick my tush again.

So I called that dr on mon morning and it was nuts trying to get an appt. I was feeling pretty good so I took a later appt so as not to have to miss more work, school or internship...

Well that backfired.

Mon like I said I was feeling pretty good in the morning came home after work did some things, went to the 1st day of classes felt fine, went to my internship where my guys were great and supportive and said they all missed me... aww some of then are sweethearts...
However after my internship driving home I was in ALOT of pain, not as bad as Thur though but almost. Picked up Jess came home and wentto take my pain meds they gave me because it was finally that bad that I said screw it fine I will take one but I couldnt find the bottle :(!

I laid down to try to feel better and got well enough to head in to work. On the way there it started up again. Once at work I was talking to a good friend / coworker about everything and my boss calls and starts in on me about something I had nothing to do with and my pain started up again and this time it was worse than it was Thurs.

Finally the boss on the phone realizes something is wrong when I start crying on the phone - keep in mind I rarely cry in front of people unless I am Very comfy around them - and asks me what is up so I tell her... keep in mind I do not have much sick time avail. So she says she goingt o find someone to come in to work for me... so I can leave as soon as someone there... i express my concerns and she says they will just have to put me on disability til this is all worked out... OK what part of they do not know what is wrong with me did she not understand... what dr is going to sign off on disability when they dont know what is wrong with me????
Anyway my amazing overnight co worker, I totaally owe her now... she has some of the meds I was given my dr for a different problem that she has so she let me have one of hers and she did 99.9% of the work for the night and I sat there not moving, once the pill kicked in I was fine.

6 am rolls around and someone comes in I finally got to leave and go home.

Called dr this morning and explained that I really need an earlier appt ideally today for that follow up. So now I get to miss the 2nd day of classes and possibily my internship today...

I just wish they would figure out what is wrong with me and fix me already. I dont like taking pain meds and I do not like missing work, school and internship but as Lori said your body is telling you something is wrong you need to listen...

Ironically I have used that line at my internships when explaining to people why they cant practice when they want to.

health update

So here is the short version...

They still not really know what wrong. I am still in some pain but not nearly as bad of pain from the other day.
Pain is worst in morning and after I eat. So long as I not move to quick it usually is ok durring the day.
Still have limited appetite and get nasueated easily.

Had an interesting convo with ultrasound tech.... she didnt really tell me much other than that she went "uh huh..." when I asked what that was about all I was told was that she doesnt do the diagnosing just takes the pics... I hate when they do that obviously they saw something. If they not going to tell at least turn the screan so I can see for myself.

So now I get to call my dr on Mon am after 8 to try to get in for follow up and results. All this on the same day as the 1st day of classes.

past few days...

So the past few days I have not been feeling well at all. Finally tues night I decided to call in sick to work and try to get rid of whatever this was.

Wed - wanted to go to DR but my dr doesnt ans calls on wed nor take calls for apts on this day... so Wed I stay home from internship.

Thus morning I feeling a lil better try to go to internship only to be sent home again... I call the dr they take me right in and they are almost certain it was my appendix!

It wasnt...

So they made me go via ambulance even though I said no I will drive self or have someone drive me(I had already called Lori)

So we get to the ER and 5 hrs later I get released while haveing all of the following done to me:
8 asst sizes of blood drawn
a pelvic exam
medication for nausea
2 IVs
medication for pain
some radioactive drink
a CT scan
a radioactive injection

Should be fun to see the bill from that one... Thank GOD for Independent Health

Bottom line
"Well it's not your appendix. I want you to come in tomorrow for a pelvic ultrasound to check out your ovaries. If that comes back neg. then it was probably just some intenstinal spasming caused by a possible infection."

Great so basically what the dr meant to say was I really dont have a clue what is wrong with you but I do know it's not your appendix. So I am going to send your lightheaded, dizzy behind home for the night. Have a nice day.

Thankfully I thought to call the hospital this morning to verify that the Dr said to just come in for the ultrasound... NOPE have to make an appt. So today I get to sit around take some drugs and not do much other than drink water and not go to the bathroom until 4...

Very BUSY month... 1/2 over...

Well this month is very busy...
on top of normal full time work and child, and pets and relationship...
Internship started aug 7 and runs everyday except for Sundays, when I work a split double.
We have 3 Weddings - Jen & Janet, Ang & Joe, Sara and AT
A Mets game trip to NY, and a baby shower that same weekend...

As I was saying a very busy month or so.

So Internship is going very well I actually have come to enjoy working football again after those expereinces of UB football yrs ago I wasnt sure if I would like football again but I do. The guys are for the most part nice and the coaches and my intern supervisors are great. Though we have had a rash of random injuries and illnesses So I am definitely getting my experince time in.

The critters are getting along well and Lori has seem some funny thing from the 3 of them getting along and even sharing their treats.

The mini me is doing well her team ended up 2nd in the season and 2 in playoffs for SB.

Wedding #1 was nice. To top it off met some old friends I havent seen since college and some new friends through them... another person who shares my sports medicine love:) I saw Jen's neice for the 1st time in a long time and MY OH MY has she gotten big.

A week after that wedding we had wedding #2. It was beautiful I almost cried, Lori almost cried and she barely even knows any of the people that were there. It was like a mini HS reunion of shorts of good friends from SC. Also I finally got to see the Ang & Joe's baby out of the hospital. He's so cute.

That brings up to this current day... a lil respite before classes start Monday and another wedding comes up on the 6th.

WNY Olympics

With only 2 more days until the opening ceremonies for the 2008 summer olympics I thought it was about time I mention something about a certain hometown hero of sorts.

Jenn Stuczynski, of Fredonia, NY is going to the olympics for pole vault. Though she will not be in the opening ceremonies, because of sticking around to say a big thanks to all the home town support, it will be great to see some WNY pride at the olympics this year.

The state of Ma has repealed a REALLY old law that was on the books forcing those who wished to wed in that state to have a 1 yr residency time period beofre being able to get a mariage license.

So now that means all the happy queers from NY can have another choice for their destination wedding...

Well its been long enoug hI guess it's time to update...

Last week I had a fun yet exhausting time at the empire state games in Binghamton, ny.

Made lots of contacts for possible future employers and refrences for future job hunts etc... and made lots of new friends...

From "...sweating my boobs off..." to "tootsie roll fights..." & commiserating over each other's body aches it was a fun time. It also was a sort of reunion of UB athletic trainers some that were ATCS when I was there and some that were students with me.

The best though was when I met some guy that actually went to high school with my mom... and ironically got his AT degree from canisius.

Fun times were had by all and if they didnt it was their own fault.

Ah resume builders and hat feathers....

So I just had some frightening thoughts...
SO high school...
I had the pleasure / displeasure depending on how you look at it of going to 2 yes 2 different in many ways high schools.

1. Silver creek - bigger school, bigger classes, fun, great, retrospectively lots of homosexual influences... I know many people that have come through that school in various years even some old enough to be my parents that are...
my Pt. I do have one... Lots of the teachers I remember were older and a few younger ones but most of them are still there according to the school website! Keep in mind i was at this school from 3 - 9th grade

2. North Collins - MUCH smaller school, smaller classes, fun, great, lots of great friends... weirdly enough I keep in better touch with the friends from SC though... I wonder why? I have some thoughts...
ONLY 3 yes 3 of the names on the current teachers and staff list are from names I remember and shockingly my old coach is still coaching... Good for him. But most of these teachers were much younger than the teachers at SC and they have either moved on to bigger better things or who knows what.

I really kinda wish i would get in contact with a couple of these teachers... Though I doubt any of the SC teachers would remember me.

As sad as I was to see Willie go maybe it was the right call after all.

Also from a selfish point I have to say I am glad to hear that Manuel is planning on making sure that his big name players that everyone wants to see will be rested on road trips and play for home games.

What is happening with these guys?

In 5th place of the INT North 16.5 games behind.

The sad thing is the parent team(Cleveland Indians) are talking contracts with minor league teams this season. (as are other teams like Mets, Jays and Rays)

We still have yet to use any of our flex tix for the Bisons. Maybe we'll go to one next week.

Tomorrow I get to take one of the guys from work to the game. Lets hope they can pull a few out so I dont feel the need to bring a book with me to the game. :-/

My Gma. One of the most amazing ladies I know. Been through more than most people can dream of.

I found out today she was taken to the ER from her nursing home.

I know I should go visit her and soon. I feel terrible that I dont go visit as much as I would like.

Nursing homes and hospitals have always been a roug hspot for many people in my family esp. since everything with Uncle Bill & Gpa. (Both passed away in nursing home facilities)

The sad thing of the matter is that mentally Gma is still pretty much there not like Uncle Bill & Gpa.

Unfortunately I have to travcl this week for work. Monday through Thursday I will be taking a couple of the gals from the house I work at on vacation.

That leaves Friday, because Saturday and Sunday I have to work and take a defensive driving class so Geico doesnt raise my rates. I might be able to go down Monday. Then Tuesday I have to be in Binghamton to work the Empire State games for medical staff. I will not return from that until Sunday the 27th basically just in time to come home and say my hellos and I miss yous to Lori and Jess and then off to work that night.

Life is so crazy and I always hoped I wouldnt be one of those people who let "Life" get in the way of keeping up with family and friends. However it looks like this is one of those eye openers again. :-/

Maybe I can convince a cousin or 2 to go with. Esp. if she still in the hospital since Jess will not be able to go up and Lori will be at work.

Great news for college women's basketball fans.

Geno, Yes he can be known by simply his first name.; was recently handed a 5 year $8 MILLION contract extension. (With bonuses for reaching various levels each season.)

This will keep one of the best women's college basketball coaches on the sidelines of UCONN through 2013.

So maybe... just maybe my dream job might come through afterall... only about 1 yr away from sending out resumes. You bet your bottom $ Uconn will be getting one.

J's Softball 2008

Well it's that time of year again time for the mini me to start her softball season. With the end of the school year comes the start of the softball season.
This year looks to be another good yr.(last year they lost in the championship game)
Her coach is one of the daughters of a good family friend, who we bowl with; with one of the other daughters serving as an assistant.
Another bowling buddy's daughter is on the team with J. It is her first year playing and she is super cute.
The first game of the year found our team (the Bisons) playing against the Clippers. This team has yet another bowling buddy's daughter on the team.
It was a bowling reuinion of sorts at the softball field.

The Bisons won 28-21.
One inning the girls even pulled out a TRIPLE PLAY! Amazing!

With 5 teams this year it shows that interest in the local youth girls on softball has risen a whole team. Which allows for some bye games.

Games are basically every Tues & Thurs @ 4pm at the ball field adjacent to the lady jack's field.

OK so the Mets have lost some coaches. They have been playing the worst team in the majors recently and losing to them. Last night though 2 back to back inning home runs from Write. A 3 run blast from Reyes. Guys actually diving for the ball. It was a great sight to see.

Lets see if they can keep it up with the subway series starting friday.

A recent Advocate article on NYS gay marriage was recently in the advocate and on their website.

The article mentions how with the stepping down on Rep. senate majority leader Bruno, and the elections to be held soon in Nov. that the chances of NYS senate passing the same sex marriage bill is very hopeful. (The bill already passed the assembly last year and Patterson already stated that he would "absolutely" sign the bill should it make it to his desk")

Bottom line... If the same sex marriage bill can get passed in the state senate then it is a GO.

To do that, the democrats need to take just 2 seats in Novemberto take over the majority or hope for some nice republicans to take Bruno's spot.

The other thing to remember is that over half the republicans in the senate now are over 65 so how many of them are going to want to run for re-election in Nov.?

This nov. election should be an interesting one. Not just the Presidential election.

We did finally hear ack from our lawyer... we're looking at mid- July to formalize the forms, then it can be anywhere from 1 - 6 months depending on the courts... how picky the judge wants to be(will they demand a home study or a social worker visit or will they just do a background check to be sure L isnt some crazy child hating lesbo.

CA is only the 2nd state to allow same sex marriages and the only state not to have a residency requirement.

Co-worker finally free to grieve

Imagine my shock when I from out of town today went to the Buffalo news website and saw that one of the cover stories was about a coworker of mine and the ordeal her family went through when her daughter passed away years ago.
What they didnt mention in this story was that not only were they questioning the family and going to their son's school but also that they came to their places of employment and were asking basically everyone that knew them if they thought these loving people could possibly be guilty of murdering their physically challenged child.
All I have to say about this further is THANK GOD this family finally is able to go through the grieving process without law enforcement hanging over their every move.

SO my G -ma FINALLY recieved her mother's day flowers and cany... only how many days late.

OK so it's been a while since my last posting.
Things are going well. Busy with work and getting ready for school to start back up for Jess and me.
Basically nothing has really changed, not much to report on. Apparently a friend of mine got married in MA on 7/7/07... Congrats to them.
Just recieved word that another friend of mine has moved again in the chicago area; sounds like good things for her.
Talked to a couple friend from UB times the other night... one is now officially been added to the potential babysitter list for when she returns to the area for classes in the fall. while the other told me of her PHD schooling that she is working on. She even asked me if I would be interested in coming to work for her once i finish my degree at canisius... interesting but depends on alot of things... like where she decides to set up shop. Also found out from her that my old director of AT at UB has a new job at a school in VA. So I got her email and have been chatting with her via email a few times this past week. catching up on things... She ironically also said to get back to her once done with Canisius and she would help me find a job... Very good. Things are looking up... Now if only either of them have connections with colleges in MA? We shall see in a couple years.

Hope all of you are doing well. Not that I expect many of you to still be reading this since I sparingly write anymore.

Ok yes I agree that grown men and women acting like spoiled rich kids and even spoiled rich kids acting like spoiled rich kids is disgusting and headache provocing... BUT... I do see the point here.

We are talking about state elected officials who only work paart of the year yet get paid for having worked the whole year... Now if they actually got everything done in that time frame I wouldnt care how much time they took off, but lets be real how many times in the past 5 years has NYS actually passed a budget on time let alone anything else?

Im sick of the grown men and women that WE elect into power doing what they want when they want and not really taking into consideration what the people who voted them in to represent them really want. How about on each representative's web page you put up the bills and what they mean in lay terms and let the constituents of that district vote on that person's web site and then that elected official can then vote along what the constituents want. Yes I realize many constituents probably wont go to the sites to even look let alone vote, but that is then their problem... it's like the saying goes if you dont vote you dont have the right to complain about who your officials are.

I say good for Spitzer for making these officials realize that they are there to do a job and if you dont get your work done in your 9-5 time then guess what you're staying late or taking it home with you. That's how it would be with any other job. Why do we let these ELECTED officials get away with it? Are they not there to represent the views of the majority of their district? Not to say and do what they need to get into office then just go about what they want? We need more business people in elected possitions and less politicans in office.

Enough is enough of these men and women manipulating the system to fit their own agendas.
The sadest part of all of this is that people rarely stand up and take notice of these things until there is something that affects them going on? Where are the elderly when their grandkids' schools loose funding? Where are the health care providers when factory jobs are going over-seas or to another state because they get tax breaks? Where are the Gays and Lesbians when it comes to issues like stem cell research and elder abuse? I could go on and on. It's time everyone stops and takes a look around not just in NYS but everywhere. We're being duped by the very people we as a whole are electing into power.

"If you're not angry you're not paying attention" - I have seen it as a bumper sticker and a tshirt... It should be EVERYWHERE.

So I am sorry to be blogging so much today... but so many things have made me sick I cant keep quie about it anymore today...

This stupid hate mongroling group from Westboro Baptist Fundamentalists church has gone too far...

now I am a firm believer in everyone is entitled to their opinion whatever it may be... and you know what if they want to share their opinion in a respectful way thats fine too... but when you cant even be respectful of others thats just sick.

especially what they are doing now... going and protesting at funerals of recently departed soldiers saying things like...

So yet another Gay rights thing has surfaced in the country that is suppose to be the home of the free... free from governmentally sanctioned discrimination... HA, Funny, well in theory it has sounded good right???

So I just have to comment on a certain quote I found in the Buffalo news today... (yes this particular paper tends to be very conservative... BUT....

What about single widowed parents?
What about kids that dont see one of their parents due to restraining orders and prisons and endless other reasons?

Does this judge really believe for a minute that just because a kid is growing up in a home where 2 moms or 2 dads exist instead of the happy husband & wife that they are somehow disadvantaged?

Bullshit, do they think that these kids will never go to school and have a male / female teacher? what about aunts and uncles or cousins... Come on People this is ridiculous.

The sad thing is that yes these kids are going to have to face some hurdles in life... (show me a kid who hasnt) yes the hurdles may be different... but you know what if people would just do whats right and be people and not be jerks about things to kids ... Ex) would anyone (not of KKK relations) go up to a mulato kid and lay into them about how mixing of races is wrong? for that matter would anyone with half a brain go up to a kid who's parents are muslim and go on about how " all towel heads are terrorist",... GOD I would hope not, But the sad thing is these things happen they really do and I unfortunatley have seen it with my own two eyes.

The problem isnt with the color of people's skin, their religion or who they want to sleep with the problem is with ignorant people who have nothing better to do with their lives then to go around stirring up trouble...

At least 1 judge involved wasnt suffering from anal glacoma...

So I have been busy the past week.

I just finished my 4 day training for the mental health job I start on Tues. I cant wait It hould be fun... I am still going to be at the gym but not as much as I am now...

Also, Jessie just got back from visiting Sharon and Jacqui in the Boston area for the weekend... Apparently they have an AMAZING penguin exhibit at the aquarium there and... SHE CAN RIDE HER BIKE BY HERSELF... I told Lori and Sharon it must be an Aunt thing... (Aunt Carroll taught me how to ride mine, and cousin tim taught me how to do random tricks on the bike)

We are currently borrowing their L - Word season 3 right now also :):)

still working on the blockbuster seasons that I have been working on and stuff from the library also... Esp. since once the Sabres are done with their season ( after we WIN THE CUP!!!! ) I will be shutting off my cable for the summer... There is no reason to have it, we will all rarely be home this summer from this or that so why pay for a service that we will not be using??

Thne come fall when all the seasons start back up it will be time to get cable / sat. again(direct tv)

Also recently Lori and I had our 2 yr anniversary !!! :):) May 30th

And since today is June 1 I can officially say this...

Ok so I havent been posting much lately

Life has been busy

Officially was offered the new job... pd training starts the fri before memorial day:)

gym is going well:)

Sabres are hot

Then today hit...

While i was at work at the gym I got a call from lori saying it was an emergency... Midnight was having a seizure... !!! So we take him to the vet they check him out and draw blood and do tests and send us home.

No sooner we get home and Lori is about to leave to go into work a lil late and he has a BUNCH more seizures, worse then the morning ones... I was SO scared. So we call the vet and they say to come back down in the afternoon... Lori calls out of work for the day and so do I.

Go vet in afternoon and get emergency pills to give him if he has any more seizures that are bad again before the blood work comes back in the am...

So right now Jess and lori are at the school for a reading thing and i am home with my puppy hoping for the best...

a part of me hopes that something shows up on the tests that maybe he ate something in the yard that made him sick and he will be better in a day or 2, and other part of me is thinking no come on do you really think that is what it is... i know he didnt get into anything in the house.. there is no way he could. but outside??? unlikely yes, but possible...

the other alternative is that he might have doggie epilepsy and depending on how frequenty and the intensity of the seizures he might need to be on meds for the rest of his life or just when there is a problem...

Thus why i am really hopping he just got something from the yard

The good news of this story if there could be... is that Thankfully we have health insurance on the dog wich covers 70% of any illness or injury... THANK GOD.
So I got my 1st experience of filling claim forms today too.

Thanks to them for coming to town so often and for doing such great things in our community...

I only wish I had the opprotunity to see them in the private show last night...

Maybe if i am lucky I will somehow obtain tickets for the July show at Darien lake.

So I was reading online today about some things going on in MA... Where basically people in MA are upset that LGBT issues are being brought up in the schools up there...

Now I can understand where the parents would be upset when conroversial issues are brough up in their kid's schools and they are not informed, but as i have been witness to in similiar situations here in NY If the KID brings up the issue and it is addressed in a manner that is nondiscriminatory towards any group then its ok... and obviously its not practical to expect that the school will get a notice out about something that no one knew was going to come up...

So How is everyone out there in blog world??

How was your Easter?

Well... Lets see our trip down to W.P. went a lil earlier than anticipated. We left Good Friday instead of on the kid's b-day. It went really well. We got in early Sat. morning and after a few hrs of sleep went and visited Nana in Jersey with a few of Lori's other family members. Had Easter dinner at her "Uncle's house" with all the "cousins" and such. It was fun.

We had a few down days to just relax, and we even went to the Bronx zoo... I have to admit I didnt even know that there was such a cool zoo there... It's HUGE.. and it really does put the Buffalo Zoo to shame... then again... I think we were there for about 5 hrs or so and we made it through about a lil more than half the zoo, and Jess even got to ride a camel. Fun times. Grammy had a really good idea with that one:) There is also a really cool butterfly thing there too. I have to try to remember to take one of the extra leaflets in to show candy and the kids... They LOVE butterflies.

On this particular trip not only was it Jess's bday but also gman's, so when you add 2 birthdays easter and Sharon came home to visit one of the nights we were there it adds up to LOTS of food but REALLY good food...
