This Weekend

So this weekend started off looking a lil rough...

The NYC area to get hit with a TON of snow... So we are tol EARLY thurs morning from a VERY early call from Lori's mom...

So I bite the bullet and call my mom... about having midnight and lil J. to go down for a weekend visit... I figure if the dog is with her the liklihood of mom disappearing for too long are greatly deminished....

So we get their things all packed up to go visit gma and ggma take them down on friday night ...

friday back home Lori and I continue with pre-trip chores such as extra food and water for cats and packing clothes and putting away laundry all that fun stuff...

Alarm is all set, 530 is really really early... Of course we dont get up that early... I dont know if it did not go off or if I shut it off in my sleep and do not remember it or if Lori did but long story short we got on the road much later than planed but it all worked out because we were just going to Albany and the roads were fine... Got there only about 30 min later than planed...

Hung out with Lori's cousin and friend who both go to U- Albany and ironically enough date... Then Sharon and Jacqui got in about 1 and we all went out for some really good Mexican... (Those of you who know my should know I do not typically eat Mexican unless we're talking tacos) But really it was Very good...

The best part is that down town Albany kinda reminds me of an Allen- town / the village combo of sorts... It was nice... I liked it. ( I am talking mostly about the colors of the buildings and the architecture... )

Then it was off to find the hotel. After a few interesting twists and turns while following Danny (yes including turning left where it said do not turn left...) But all went well... none of the cars got lost, no accidents and all is well.

Then off to "THE EGG" which I am sure must stand for something but at the moment it escapes me. At the "EGG" which I must recommend everyone go see something there its just AWESOME.

So this trip was Lori and Jacqui's Christmas presents from Sharon and I ... Though I am not a big Indigo Girls fan... It wasnt half bad... I enjoyed the opening act " 3Five Human" they had some really good songs and they worked the crowd well.
The Indigo girls have some songs that I know and I wouldnt go so far as to say I like them, but they are catchy... so the first bit of them on stage I knew some songs and it was fun... then I started to fall asleep for a while and Lori would nudge me... I then would wake up and somehow manage to clap at the right times and such... then towards the end they played more songs that I knew so that was good I stayed awake for that part.
But the coolest part was at the very end they had the opening act come out and they all performed together...

It wasnt until after the show that I realized where I knew some of the songs from... Back when Emily and Hunter were around they both LOVED the Indigo Girls and I had heard some of their songs while hanging out with them..

So now the group has made full circle in my head and the songs make sense.

Back at the hotel the 4 of us chated and watched the news to find out that NYC area is talking 20 + inches... the most recorded on record for snowfall in the city ever...

I had to laugh... Because here we are from Buffalo area getting ready to come home and there is practically no snow at all... While down at Lori's mom's they are getting hit hard. Back over by the Boston area which is where Sharon and Jacqui live are getting hit hard...
Dang welcome to Buffalo Winters guys...
Have fun Shoveling and DO NOT FORGET... USE your LEGS... not your back

So How was everyone else's weekend?
