Ok so its been a while...

SO here is the update...things at the Ub meeting went ok... But I was basically told that it wouldnt work out... many problems with that... However....

Paula is AMAZING she opened my eyes to a couple other options that I hadnt even thought about... but 1 just is too long to wait and the other welll though a good idea, would most likely lead to me never really finishing up my grand plan...

GRAND PLAN

To finish up AT get certified... then go to Niagara's 1 year secondary ed masters and certification program... Thus being able to then search for my ideal career as a high school science teacher ( Bio? Chem? Phy?) leaning more towards Bio or Physics and pick up a stipen for the afternoons being the AT at the high school... See they are more likely to hire me as the AT if I can do something else at the school as well... SO ... This is my GRAND PLAN.

Moving fwd...

So then after the Paula meeting I made a meeting to meet with Pete at Canisius... IT WENT AMAZINGLY WELL... I must say though their set up will take some getting use to... not as Grand of a presntation as UB's 2 AT rooms are... but still nice.

Basically what he told me was that I would be treated as a Transfer... come in as a Sr... take 1 class in fall, 1 class in spring, no intern hrs to complete the 1st year... the 2nd year I would be taking all the Core AT classes... most of which I took at UB already but its beena while since I took them and since that is what the Cert exam would be on they said I should either retake for grade and hope to pull up GPA or atleast do it pass fail to refresh the material... WHICH I TOTALLY agree with. this 2nd year would also incl. about 350 intern hrs... then a 3rd year depending on how much of UB stuff came over at an acceptable grade I would either be full time for another year or part time for a year or possibly full time for 1 sem. with about 650 hrs of interning in that last year.

After all that I would be finally elligible to take the NATABOC EXAM... and hopefully pull up my GPA the 1.15 that I need to get into the masters 2ndary ed program at Niagara with no problems...

Thoughts on all this..
A) I cant wait to get started
B) I want to go talk to a couple old High school teachers (a guidance and a couple sience teachers)
c) WOW I never had to write an esay to get into school before - See canisius application
D) its good to have friends to work at canisius in the ATH dept as well as in the career center...
