So yet another Gay rights thing has surfaced in the country that is suppose to be the home of the free... free from governmentally sanctioned discrimination... HA, Funny, well in theory it has sounded good right???
So I just have to comment on a certain quote I found in the Buffalo news today... (yes this particular paper tends to be very conservative... BUT....
" ...and In what gay rights groups characterized as unsettling
language, the court's majority focused much of the ruling on
the impact same-sex marriages can have on children of gay
couples. Writing for the majority, Judge Robert S. Smith
rejected arguments that children of gay parents do as well
as those in families with heterosexual parents.
"Intuition and experience suggest that a child benefits
from having before his or her eyes, every day, living
models of what both a man and a woman are like,"
Smith wrote.
"Protecting the welfare of children is a legitimate
governmental interest," said Smith, adding that "there
is a rational relationship between that interest and the
limitation of marriage to opposite sex couples... "
BULLSHIT !
What about single widowed parents?
What about kids that dont see one of their parents due to restraining orders and prisons and endless other reasons?
Does this judge really believe for a minute that just because a kid is growing up in a home where 2 moms or 2 dads exist instead of the happy husband & wife that they are somehow disadvantaged?
Bullshit, do they think that these kids will never go to school and have a male / female teacher? what about aunts and uncles or cousins... Come on People this is ridiculous.
The sad thing is that yes these kids are going to have to face some hurdles in life... (show me a kid who hasnt) yes the hurdles may be different... but you know what if people would just do whats right and be people and not be jerks about things to kids ... Ex) would anyone (not of KKK relations) go up to a mulato kid and lay into them about how mixing of races is wrong? for that matter would anyone with half a brain go up to a kid who's parents are muslim and go on about how " all towel heads are terrorist",... GOD I would hope not, But the sad thing is these things happen they really do and I unfortunatley have seen it with my own two eyes.
The problem isnt with the color of people's skin, their religion or who they want to sleep with the problem is with ignorant people who have nothing better to do with their lives then to go around stirring up trouble...
At least 1 judge involved wasnt suffering from anal glacoma...
" Chief Judge Judith Kaye, in her dissent, noted
that 96 percent of Americans opposed interracial
marriages before the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1967
that such marriage bans were illegal.
"The claim that marriage has always had a single
and unalterable meaning is a plain distortion of history
- the long duration of a constitutional wrong cannot
justify its perpetuation, no matter how strongly
tradition or public sentiment might support it," she wrote.
Kaye disputed the children's welfare argument. "
Get use to it people diversity is everywhere in everything, its what makes life worth living. The various races are not going anywhere, the various religions are not going anyehere and you know what the queers arent going anywhere either, so get used to it.
